Startup Week: Fintech Partnerships and Exits

Learn from those who have done it how to cultivate the fertile FinTech land of the Silicon Prairie. Serial FinTech innovation partner Chuck Norris from Nelnet, innovator Michael Riordan of BenefitEd and the Nelnet Innovation Hub, and FinTech company founder Scott McCormick of Smarty Pig/Q2 will give best practices in FinTech.

Charles (Chuck) Norris has been part of the Nelnet organization for more than 20 years. During this time, Chuck helped start Infovisa, a trust software company located in Charlotte, N.C., and he currently sits on its board. In addition, Chuck is one of the founders of Nelnet Capital, LLC, a registered Broker/Dealer located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Prior to joining Nelnet, Chuck was a Financial Analyst for Merrill Lynch in New York City. Chuck also worked for Wilshire Associates located in Santa Monica, Calif.

Mike is a Sr. Business Analyst with Nelnet's Innovation Hub. Mike owns the entire lifecycle of a new product and company from the idea through validation, build, launch, and execution.  He has a diverse background, working as a CPA in public accounting, working with at-risk youth at Boystown, and now with Nelnet.

Scott McCormack serves as President of Smarty Pig. Mr. McCormack brings 18-plus years of successful business development and financial industry experience to his role on the SmartyPig executive team. Mr. McCormack served as Senior Director at TMS – smartOne Prepaid Solutions, a longstanding icon in the prepaid payment industry, and Vice President of Debit/ATM products at First National Bank prior to joining SmartyPig.
