A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to put our methodology into action -- rapid pace! We partnered with the University of Nebraska--Omaha's Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Franchising, to deliver the first-ever Breakthrough Weekend, powered by COX Business.
During the 54-hour sprint, 10 teams worked (intensely!) through LEVELS 1-4 of our fellowship program. Nearly 60 people learned how to quickly validate a market problem (opportunity) and assess customer motivation to solve that problem. They ran through the basics of messaging, prototyping and more. It was a rush! And totally encouraging!
Some of the concepts that emerged with (very early) signals of market validation included:
City to City: enabling couples to register for experiences, rather than more than bowls, hand towels or other unwanted and unneeded gear.
Gig: allowing interviewees and interviewers to skip the resume and interview in real-time, cutting down wasted time on red tape and paperwork.
Quality News: a news bias score that allows readers to filter real from fake news through deep machine learning.
Maslow's Drones: creating connected and safe spaces by offering drone support on campus, thus increasing security's presence.
Virtutech: an augmented reality play at solving the antiquated emergency drill procedures.
We’re excited to see how these teams progress!
